Rap Star T.I. Receives Bennett Custom Award

World-renowned rap star T.I. received a custom award designed by Bennett Awards on March 13, 2009, in recognition of the positive impact of his song “Dead and Gone”. The unique Bennett Award was used for the 2009 “Movement Through Music Award”, presented by PositiveXchange.com, the Center for Neighborhood Enterprise, and the National Violence Free Zone. This award recognizes a song so powerful that it changes the world in a positive way. T.I. and his song “Dead and Gone” were the recipients of this year’s award. The Bennett sculpture award “Harmonize”, by Bennett Awards artist Tom Bennett, was used for this special award presentation.

This unique award (shown below) was customized by incorporating a crystal globe into the standard design. Additional customization in the recognition award was created by personalizing the award’s black marble. On the front of the award’s base, silver-filled engraving was used to convey the name of the award, details about the artist and song, and the meaning behind the award. On the back of the award’s base, a silver plate with etchings communicated the presenting organizations. The award was presented to T.I. by PositiveXchange CEO Omar Jahwar.
