Some years ago, BloodSource wanted to change the way that we expressed our gratitude to members of our volunteer Board of Trustees for their service. We wanted to give something unique, lasting and of the local community. Giving sculptures designed by Bennett Awards was a perfect choice. We initially purchased sculptures from the Bennett Award collection. As the recipients expressed their admiration and gratitude for these beautiful works of art, we went on to contract for a numbered run of a specific sculpture, which made the recognition even more special. As BloodSource grew and changed, we commissioned Tom Bennett to create a distinctive rendition of our newly stylized logo in bronze. Each time this sculpture is presented to one of our valued supporters, it is with great pride that we say it was designed and created specifically for BloodSource.

After the crash of the Sheriff’s Helicopter, it was apparent that we needed to design and erect an appropriate tribute to the “Heroes in the Sky”. My thoughts immediately went to the works of Bennett Gallery that I had seen before. Working with the entire staff of Bennett Awards was absolutely wonderful. When Tom Bennett heard the ideas of the committee about what we wanted represented in the sculpture, he came up with concepts in no time at all. He completely bought into our ideas and the outcome was fantastic.

Dealing with governmental entities made the process frustrating and unpredictable. Alice Bennett was fantastic and flexible in helping overcome each obstacle that came up. The large monument was incredible, exceeding everyone’s expectations. Everyone from the family members of the victims to members of the department commented on the wonderful results and the quality of the memorial. The smaller miniatures of the sculpture are very precious to the family members. The detail and likeness was amazing.

The collaboration with Bennett Awards was a wonderful experience for me and helped bring a sense of closure to an incredibly emotional period in my life. I would definitely do business with them in the future. Their patience, understanding and reverence for the entire process truly made the process painless and lead to a very successful project and the placement of a wonderful tribute to my friends.
