Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies Custom Awards

RMFMS Custom Awards


Bennett Awards created a set of custom awards for a mineralogical group called the Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies (RMFMS). The RMFMS is a collection of individuals and groups that are interested in minerals, gems, fossils and rocks. The RMFMS is part of a group of 7 regional federations that comprise the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies (AFMS).

These custom awards were developed to recognize “best in category” mineralogical presentations. These prestigious awards are presented on an annual basis to federation members that have submitted a case of specimens (into a specific class of competition. These specimens are judged against a set of criteria established by the AFMS. Cases that score more than 90 points out of a possible 100 in a specific category of competition win one of these unique custom awards.

These custom awards are presented at an awards banquet held during the Annual RMFMS Show. In a typical year, between 1 and 7 of these unique awards are presented. The custom awards developed by Bennett Awards feature a gold panner knelling with a pan of gold. They are produced in pewter, and mounted on a white marble base.
