Sherry Lansing Receives Bennett Custom Award

Award News: Bennett Custom Award Presented to Sherry Lansing

The Patron of the Arts Award, a custom award designed by Bennett Awards, was presented to film studio executive Sherry Lansing, the former CEO of Paramount Pictures and the first women to head a major studio. This unique custom award was presented to Lansing by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation on April 22, 2009 at a ceremony held at a private estate in Beverly Hills, California. The awards ceremony was attended by many of Hollywood’s biggest actors and actresses, including Morgan Fairchild, Linda Gray, Valarie Harper and JoBeth Williams. During Lansing’s tenure at Paramount, the studio had their longest string releases since the 1930’s, including Forrest Gump, Braveheart, and the highest grossing film of all time – Titanic. In addition to Lansing’s role as CEO of Paramount Pictures, she was also the first female president of 20th Century Fox.

The Patron of the Arts Award is presented annually to a person who has contributed significantly to the support of persons or projects that encourage excellence in the film industry.
