2010 marked the inaugural presentation of these customized awards. There were three recipients of these recognition awards:
1) Lynn Hirshfield, Senior Vice President of Publishing for Participant Media. Hirshfield is also an Emmy, Peabody, and Television Critics awards recipient as a development executive, and the author of a best-selling book, “Girls Gone Green”. 2) Dr. Jenn Berman, child-rearing expert, TV personality, and author of the best-selling books “The A to Z Guide to Raising Happy Confident Kids”, “Superbaby: 12 Ways to Give Your Child a Head Start in the First 2 Years”, and “Rockin’ Babies”. 3) The Screen Actors Guild, which has developed and manages three outstanding children’s literacy programs. These recognition awards were presented on October 1, 2010, during a Gala Luncheon held at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. Bennett Awards created this custom awards design working in conjunction with the Molina Foundation. The unique awards design features a 10” x 10” figure of a child sitting down and reading a book. The unique award is cast in bronze. The bronze features a dark patina, except for the pages of the open book, which are high-polished, reflecting the image of the child. The mirrored finish on these pages symbolizes the reflected back from the knowledge received in reading books. These unique recognition awards are mounted on round, black marble bases with the name of the award and recipient engraved into the base. |
